Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Man with Van Docklands is committed to conducting business in a responsible, transparent, and ethical manner. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all activities carried out by Man with Van Docklands and to all individuals and organisations who work with us.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Docklands adopts a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, servitude, and other forms of exploitation. We will not knowingly engage with or support any business, contractor, or individual involved in such practices.
All employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers are expected to act with integrity and to uphold our commitment to human rights and fair working conditions. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter that may result in termination of contracts or employment, as well as referral to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Man with Van Docklands operates within the transport, removals, and logistics sector. Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, recruitment and staffing agencies, and other professional and support services.
We recognise that certain parts of the logistics and labour supply chain may be at higher risk of exploitation. As such, we focus particular attention on third-party labour providers, subcontracted transport services, and suppliers operating in higher risk sectors or regions. We aim to work only with partners who can demonstrate respect for legal and ethical labour standards.
Due Diligence and Supplier Audits
We are committed to identifying and assessing the risk of modern slavery within our supply chain. To support this, we carry out proportionate due diligence when engaging new suppliers and renewing existing relationships. This may include requesting information on working conditions, recruitment practices, and the use of subcontractors.
Where appropriate, we conduct or request audits of suppliers and contractors. These audits may review records relating to wages, working hours, right to work checks, and health and safety arrangements, as well as policies on modern slavery and human rights. If risk indicators are identified, we may require corrective actions, closer monitoring, or, where issues cannot be resolved, discontinuation of the business relationship.
Training and Awareness
We believe that awareness is essential to preventing modern slavery. Managers and staff with responsibility for procurement, recruitment, and supplier management receive guidance on identifying signs of exploitation and understanding our obligations under modern slavery legislation.
All employees are made aware of this Statement and our zero-tolerance policy as part of their induction and ongoing communications. We encourage an open culture in which staff feel confident to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Man with Van Docklands encourages anyone who has concerns or suspicions regarding modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chain to report them promptly. Concerns may be raised internally through line managers or senior management.
We will investigate all reports sensitively, fairly, and as confidentially as possible. No one who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any detrimental treatment as a result. Where credible concerns are identified, we will take appropriate remedial action, which may include notifying law enforcement or relevant regulatory bodies.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to tackling modern slavery. Each year we will review this Statement, assess the effectiveness of our measures, and identify opportunities to strengthen our processes. This includes reviewing supplier risk assessments, audit findings, training effectiveness, and any incidents or reports received.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is approved by the management of Man with Van Docklands and is reviewed and updated on an annual basis to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with best practice.
